We all interact with a variety of people each day. Some will share our opinions and see the world the way we do, others will provide the opportunity to open our minds to a new perspective. Regardless of the interaction, we all have the chance to be impactful with the words we choose.
Before your next conversation, take a moment to THINK before you speak. Ask yourself if your words are…
T – True
If you use words like “always” and “never”, what you’re saying isn’t true.
H – Helpful
Are your words just critical or are they seasoned with instruction or information?
I – Inspiring
Do you instill confidence in the other person? Encouraging them they’re capable of something better?
N – Necessary
Sometimes it’s important to point out the obvious, other times not so much.
K – Kind
Our words can cut people down or build them up. How are you using yours?
You’ve probably seen this acronym before, but it bears repeating. In our fallen world, we must choose to be different. We can bless and encourage just as quickly as we can frustrate and argue. We can be the bright spot of kindness and encouragement in someone’s day! The enemy is constantly seeking an opportunity to destroy, let’s not allow our words to be his weapon of choice. Instead, we can use our words to be salt and light to those who need it most.
Be blessed!
Jennifer
