Several of you have said you love watching home decorating shows. It’s exciting to see a room go from drab and ordinary to colorful and fabulous! We enjoy seeing the reveal at the end when they show the homeowners’ reaction. Sometimes they love it and other times they’re not so sure.
In a recent episode, a designer cleared a young family’s living room of all their baby paraphernalia and created a sleek, modern new look. During the reveal the young mom tried so hard to mask her disappointment. She had dreamed of a warm, comfortable space to raise her family but received a cold, formal design instead. When they asked what she thought of the room she simply said, “I guess anything is better than what I could have come up with.” My heart sank…
How often do we get wrapped up in the same kind of stinkin’ thinkin’? We begin to believe anyone else’s effort would be better than our own or become so overwhelmed by a dream we decide not to even try.
Have you given up on a dream because you don’t know how to make it happen? Have you lowered the expectations you have for yourself? For others? For God?
Remember, when the dream in your heart aligns with God’s will, it was put there BY GOD – He gave you the dream in the first place! His expectations for you haven’t lowered one bit. Is it time to ask God to rekindle your dream? Or maybe to ask for a new one? Trust me, God is an amazing Dream Giver…
Be blessed!
Jennifer
