I received a flower delivery recently from a dear friend. Instead of a radiant display of brightly colored tulips (my favorite), what arrived at my office was a basket full of tulip bulbs. While the gesture was still thoughtful, it wasn’t what either of us had expected.
While we were originally disappointed by the delivery, the bulb basket bloomed exactly as God intended for it to bloom. I was able to watch the tulip bulbs sprout and blossom in His perfect timing, which brought hope and encouragement to me on the days I needed to feel God’s presence the most.
I think we all have to be reminded to hold on and trust God’s perfect timing. We are excited and anxious about what God has called us to do and want to skip to the end to see everything come to fruition. The word bloom is a verb that means “to mature into achievement of one’s potential.” The tulip knows when to bloom because of a gene that’s within it telling it, “Wake up, it’s time to bloom!”
We have been blessed with something deep within us too… the Holy Spirit. When the time is right, He will nudge us and say, “Get up it’s time to bloom!” Just like the tulips, we all have potential because God gives each of us a purpose and a hope for our calling. But growth takes time and it will never arrive quickly and all at once.
I know it’s so hard to wait but when we trust in God’s perfect timing, the Holy spirit will tap us on the shoulder and say, “Get up dear one, it’s blooming time!” Then we’ll see God’s manifestation in our lives! Doors we did not knock on will open to us. We will begin to receive blessings we did not ask for. God’s equipping within us will overflow we’ll be used in ways we’ve only dreamt of… according to His perfect timing.
Are you still waiting to see your prayers come to fruition? Then it isn’t blooming time yet! Don’t give up! Stand your ground! Trust that the harvest is coming! God is doing a new thing in you and your blooming time is coming!!
Be blessed,
Jennifer
