In a span of one hour, I heard three different scenarios where people stated they needed a miracle – no kidding!
“I have no idea what I’m going to do. I need God to give me a miraculous sign!”
“She’s been sick for so long; it will take a miracle to heal her…”
“I need a miracle for this situation to work out!”
Each scenario was a blend of desperation and hope – desperation because there was nothing more they were able to do and hope that God would step in and save the day! I wondered what a miracle would actually look like to each of them: would it appear in a bright flash of light and a crack of thunder leaving everyone in awe and wonder? Or would it be the complete removal of an obstacle or situation that seems to stand in the way as if it magically disappeared? Regardless, I think what they’re really asking for is the divine intervention of God.
“I have no idea what I’m going to do. I need God to give me a miraculous sign!”
Have you ever been there? Confused and a little scared about what to do next? Sometimes we have no idea what the next step may be and other times, we simply can’t decide which option to choose. God tells us we can come to the throne and ask Him for clarity and direction in time of need. But perhaps we should also ask Him for wisdom and discernment to recognize and understand the signs He has already given us.
“She’s been sick for so long; it will take a miracle to heal her…”
It’s so hard to see people we care about suffer. There is nothing more humbling than to know you cannot do anything to alleviate their pain. Unfortunately, that feeling of helplessness can turn into feelings of anger when we don’t see God moving the way we think He should or in our timing. But remember, God is the Great Physician! He is certainly able to remove any illness or physical limitation we or our loved ones may have if it’s in His plan to do so!
“I need a miracle to make this situation work out!”
I completely relate to this kind of prayer and have prayed for a miracle or two in my walk as well, have you? This prayer for a miracle comes when we just cannot see a way forward, all doors are closed, and the situation seems bleak! I believe these particular situations are God’s specialty! God parts the sea, moves the mountain, calms the storm, and raises the dead back to life… He can certainly help us in our time of need. We just have to trust His answer even if it looks a little different than we have planned.
Father God invites us to call out to Him in our time of need and for the needs of those we care about. Our prayers are heard by Him and He will move according to His plans and purpose. God is moving every day, let’s pray for our eyes to be opened so we see His miraculous works!
Be blessed!
Jennifer
